Last year the total sales of direct selling industry in Latvia retained the high growth rate and increased by 12% until 29,1 million euros (excl. VAT) comparing with 2012, when the increase was 11%. The number of people involved in direct sales in Latvia increased by 4%, from 40,9 thousand consultants in 2012 to 42,5 thousand in 2013.
For Baltic DSAs the WFDSA Innovation Award!
During the Gala dinner of the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) Regional Conference “East Meets West” in Istanbul, the WFDSA Chairman and “Avon” CEO Andrea Jung to the General Secretary of the Baltic Direct Selling Associations Gintautas Zaleckas handled the WFDSA Innovation Award.
Seldia Annual Round Table on the Future of Direct Selling
On September 21st over 100 participants from industry, government and stakeholders’ organisations gather in Warsaw to celebrate the 1st Annual Round Table on the Future of Direct Selling, organized by Seldia and Polish DSA.
Adoption of Consumer Rights Directive
On June 23rd the European Parliament took a final vote on the Consumer Rights Directive, which will increase the consumer rights buying through direct selling (away from business premises) and through distance selling. The last formal approval by the Council of Ministers is expected to take place in July. Member States will have a maximum of two years to implement the new rules.
